THE SCHOOL HOUSE PARK ROCKS!

May 17, 2025 by Village of Covington

The Village of Covington held School House Park Rocks festival on Friday and Saturday and the overall performances by the bands and what the vendors provided made a great experience for all attendees.

Things started on Friday at 5:00pm with Latter performing on stage. Latter drew a lot of interest from the crowd and then Jayson Michaels performed at 7:30pm. Around 8:30pm a storm came through the town, which prevent a great band, Driving Force from performing in the final night on Friday.

The festival continued on Saturday with Seth Canan And The Carriers starting at noon. Titus Bowman followed up at 1:30pm and the band named Off The Record put together an hour-and-a-half performance on stage from 2:30 to 4:00. Matt Hammaker performed for an hour starting at 4:00pm and then the band, Stranger, who played music from the 1980s, made the crowd excited in a two-hour performance.

Leah Crose, who is a very talented musician in country music, was scheduled to begin at 7:00pm, but she suffered an unfortunate illness in her throat. Fortunately, Jason Rhoades went on stage and performed very well for an hour – from 7:00 to 8:00.

Finally, the headliner – The Menus – took the stage around 8:30pm and put together an amazing performance where the crowd was amped up throughout the show. That band’s performance consisted of great music and several extremely funny situations put forth by the lead singer. It made the final part of the School House Park Rocks festival so memorable. Plus, a Drone Show took place during the intermission in the performance of The Menus.

What also made the entire festival gratifying for the attendees was the several vendors on hand and the community organizations who were providing food, drinks and fun games.

THANK YOU to all of the community members and organizations that made this festival successful.
