Village of Covington, Ohio

Covington is a village in Miami County, Ohio and was incorporated in 1835 on the site of the 1793 Fort Rowdy. Laid out in 1816, Covington was previously known under the names of Friendship, Newberry, and Stillwater. A post office called Stillwater was established in 1825 and changed to the name of Covington, Ohio in 1836.

Trash Ordinance, Rules and Regulations, and the Trash/Recycle Route – Reminder

The Village of Covington wanted to provide a reminder for the Trash Ordinance, Rules and Regulations, and the Trash/Recycle Route.

Collection Policies / Toter Location Requirement. The Village will collect trash and recycling toters that are set out per the agreed upon location for each customer.

The Village utilizes a one-man trash collection system and requires that can are placed separately and spaced appropriately (2 feet clear of any obstruction) to allow for efficient collection. Toters not meeting this requirement will be noted and customers will be provided with a reminder of this requirement.

Residents who are receiving service are required to have their containers placed by 7:00 AM their scheduled day of pick up. Click here for the – Trash/Recycle Route

Their containers are required to be moved off the curb and placed somewhere out of sight by 7:00 PM the same evening.

Continual misplaced toters may result in the discontinuation of service.
