Labor Day Weekend was highlighted in Covington by the annual Fort Rowdy Gathering, operated by the Covington-Newberry Historical Society and local businesses and organizations. COLUMBUS - Congratulations to Covington sophomore Jett Murphy for placing fourth at the state track meet and setting a new school record in the pole vault by clearing 14 feet, four inches at in Columbus on Friday. The bar was set at 11-6 to start the competition, but Jett passed on his attempts until the bar reach 13-6.
